OhioMeansJobs Medina County provides a full range of free assistance to job seekers under one roof. Established under the Workforce Investment Act, our center offers training referrals, career counseling, job listings, and similar employment-related services.

  • All of our services, for both individual job seekers and businesses, are free of charge. Our goal is to provide customers with tools and services that allow them to gain full-time employment.
  • We also provide assistance to those currently employed who are looking for better employment opportunities and training. In order to provide the broadest array of programs and services, the Center works in partnership with a number of public and private employment and training programs and services.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS – WIOA Career Services for Adults & Dislocated Workers, FFY 2019

Ohio’s Local Area 2 Workforce Development Board (WDB) announces the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for entities seeking to provide the following Workforce Development services during Federal Fiscal Year 2019:

Career Services for Adults and Dislocated Workers

Federally funded & regulated under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)


Mandatory Letter of Intent to Propose: Any agency wishing to respond to this RFP must submit a Letter of Intent no later than 4:00 p.m. EST on Friday, July 20, 2018. Failure to submit a Letter of Intent by the required deadline will preclude your organization from submitting a proposal. Please visit for submission instructions.

A Technical Assistance (TA) Session will be held on Monday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. at OhioMeansJobs Summit County, 1040 E. Tallmadge Avenue, Akron.

Proposal Deadline: Proposal packets, in the format designated in the RFP, must be received electronically no later than 4:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Proposals received after this deadline will be rejected. Ohio Workforce Area 2

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA) requires the establishment of local workforce areas within states based on geographic, industrial, educational, and other regional economic factors.  Summit and Medina Counties together form Ohio’s Local Workforce Area 2.  Area 2 is governed by the Summit and Medina Workforce Area Council of Governments (SAMWA COG) and represented by the Summit/Medina Workforce Development Board (WDB).
