How We Help

 

The goal of the OhioMeansJobs Medina County Youth Program is to ensure that the academic, training, post-secondary education and employment needs of young people are met. Services are provided through the Youth Resource Center and Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth Service Providers.

Located next door to the Workforce Development Center provides youth 14 – 23 years connection to barrier removal services and assistance in seeking and securing employment through:

OhioMeansJobs Medina County, Youth Services assists in the training and tutoring to obtain a GED.

Job Search Competencies

Skills related to the job search, including creating a resume, obtaining an interview, successfully completing applications, and participating in employment tests and job interviews.

Job Survival Competencies

Fundamentals regarding behavior and appearance on the job, managing time, following directions, getting along with co-workers, and the right way to leave a job.

Leadership Competencies

Belonging to and leading a team, making presentations to a group, competing within a group, and demonstrating commitment to an organization

Career Development Competencies:

How to identify interests, aptitudes, a career path and basic employment goals.
